14th May 2018, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n WORKSHOP SCOPE<\/b><\/p>\n Text mining (TM) is increasingly used to harness the power of unstructured data and analyse such data to discover hidden and new knowledge. TM applications have attracted considerable worldwide attention from both academia and industry over the past few years. However, in Vietnam, TM still remains under-explored due to a lack of communication between different scientific communities. This workshop will explore how text mining can be used to bring together different communities by supporting a number of applications such as publishing, life sciences, evidence-based medicine, biodiversity, etc. in Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n Building on recent developments of the <\/span>OpenMinTed<\/span><\/a> project, which supports interoperability between text mining platforms, we will demonstrate text mining applications in the areas of chemistry, neuroscience and biodiversity. Interdisciplinary research is particularly encouraged. Submitted abstracts must be a maximum of one A4 page in length, using font size 11 in Arial or another sans serif typeface of equivalent size to Arial font size 11, and the margins should not exceed 2 cm at all positions.
